Fortunately, there is a simple solution.<\/p>\n<p>Just add this to the <span class=\"iain_inlineCode\">[global]<\/span> section of your <span class=\"iain_inlineCode\">\/etc\/samba\/smb.conf<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>[code lang=&#8221;bash&#8221;]follow symlinks = yes<br \/>\nwide links = yes<br \/>\nunix extensions = no[\/code]<\/p>\n<p>There are apparently security considerations why this is disabled in the first place, but nothing I (think I) need to worry about.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Having filled up my first RAID volume, I had to add a new mount and symlink the extra directories into the network share point.
