About Me

I was brought up in Harrow, Greater London and went to Loughborough University. I am currently living in sout-west London and have a full-time job.

In 2004, I set up my own company selling laser pointers. It grew into other areas throughout the years, but slow sales brought it to a natural close as I pursued my professional career.

I'm particularly interested in the Internet and new technology, as well as being a self-confessed geek and Apple fanboy. For more about my interests, you can read my blog.

Employment Profile

I am a seasoned Software/Data/Platform Engineer and Cloud Architect with a track record of producing high quality engineering solutions, detailed analysis and cloud architecture patterns. I have a proven ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and influence change across large organisations.

At Farfetch, I was the most senior individual contributor and decision maker for the Data Department of over 200 people (of which 150 ICs including engineers, data scientists, analysts, etc).

At King, I built a DSP from scratch (within a team) serving 250,000 requests/sec with single-digit latency.

I graduated from Loughborough University with a 2:1 in Computer Science (BSc).

Through my jobs, I have experience building Data Platforms and Products, front-end and back-end development, and Platform Engineering (DevOps / Cloud Architecture). My specialities include Cloud Infrastructure (GCP & Azure), BigData (BigQuery, Spark, Databricks), backend programming (Java, Spring, Gradle), and web technologies (JavaScript, React, Angular).
